Multiple Maintenance Services at CJAA Complex – Jose, Anzoátegui

Challenge / Objective

PDVSA required specialized maintenance and repair services across multiple assets at the CJAA Complex (Jose, Anzoátegui), including scaffolding assembly for product discharge pipe repair, major structural repairs on the TAECJAA loading platform, and dismantling of obsolete loading lines from mixed-economy companies to the Jose fractionation pier.

Solution

  • Contract SO-CD-GM-SC-20-07 (PDVSA Super Octanos): Scaffolding assembly for product discharge pipe repair over pump.
  • Contract ODS No. 01 (PDVSA Gas, S.A.): Major maintenance of metal structures and metalwork repairs on the TAECJAA loading platform, including collection of spilled product.
  • Contract 4600012085 (PDVSA Gas, S.A.): Dismantling of loading lines from mixed-economy companies to the Jose fractionation pier (loading platforms 8 and 9).

Comprehensive Maintenance and Restoration at CRO Refineries

Year: 2018–2022 | Location: Puerto La Cruz and El Chaure, Venezuela

Challenge / Objective

PDVSA's CRO (Centro de Refinación Oriente) required extensive maintenance and restoration across multiple process units: FCC unit, CCR unit, atmospheric distillation unit DA-3, industrial boilers, electrical systems, and piping networks. The goal was to recover operational reliability under the CRO Operational Restoration Plan.

Solution

  • FCC Unit (Contract 4600131776): General maintenance of 3 furnaces, 4 drums, and associated works.
  • Sphere dismantling (Contract SO-RPLC-CONCIP-18-020): Dismantling and transport of 470-ton spherical tank in 15 days with 30,000 man-hours without accidents.
  • CCR Section (Contract 4600134669): Catalyst unloading, screening, reloading; maintenance of drums and filters of CCR Unit 20.
  • DA-3 Atmospheric Distillation (Contract 4620013680): Civil restoration (levels 2 & 3), mechanical maintenance of 24 pumps, 10 motors, 9 turbines, air compressors; electrical system recovery; instrumentation work on Boiler 8 and steam generation.
  • New pumps installation (Contract 4600128112): Fabrication, welding, piping, and alignment of pumps P-5/5A, P-6/6A, P-9/9A.
  • Boilers C-1, C-2, C-3 (Contract 4620013629): Refractory maintenance, piping work, hydrostatic testing, burner and valve maintenance.
  • EW-01 piping and demolition (Contract 12098-CC0403-F-005): Fabrication of 36" and 20" hot-tapping, multi-diameter piping, hydrostatic testing, radiography, demolition.
  • EW-08 13.8 kV cable line relocation (Contract EW-08 12098-CC0501-M-013): Construction of pull boxes, concrete lids, and aerial line laying.

PDVSA Servicios Petroleros required production evaluation and well cleanup operations in the El Furrial field, using well testing equipment alongside continuous tubing units. The objective was to maximize production uptime and ensure accurate reservoir data under a formal commercial alliance.

  • Contract 1Q-075-001-D-22-S-0228 / N-075-22-0209 / ODS-OCIP-2022-001 (Commercial Alliance): Extended the same services under a formal alliance framework, ensuring standardized procedures, safety protocols, and reporting.
